Changing Plans

Did you hear the one about the CEO selling off shares before bad news hit the market?

Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo has cashed in by changing his share sales schedule, and bumping up the dates. Now a state pensions fund trustee has called for the Securities and Exchange Commission to figure out if Mozilo's actions were fair and lawful.

Subprime Spill-over Affects Homebuilders

What began as the subprime credit crisis triggered a wave of foreclosures, flooding the already weak real estate market with new inventory. Real estate values have been driven down by banks and mortgage providers pricing homes to sell. Last week, August’s new home sales data and disappointing reports from two major US homebuilders highlighted the problem.
